HERE ARE THE RULES FOR THE SIMCUP08 CONTEST.
NOTE THAT THE REGULAR SEASON WILL BE 28 GAMES AND WILL START IN WEEK 3455---JANUARY 5/2008
1)EACH TEAM CONSISTS OF A MAXIMUM 4 STABLES.
2)ALL HORSES ENTERED IN THIS CONTEST MUST COME FROM YOUR 4 CONTEST STABLES.
3)EACH WEEK A SCHEDULE OF GAMES WILL BE LISTED WITH THE MATCHUPS FOR THAT WEEK. YOU ENTER 3 HORSES FROM YOUR 4 CONTEST STABLES ON THE ENTRY THREAD ON THIS BOARD AND COMPETE AGAINST THE 3 HORSES FROM YOUR OPPONENT FOR THAT WEEK. NOTE THAT YOU ARE NOT RUNNING YOUR HORSES HEAD TO HEAD IN THE SAME RACES BUT ARE TRYING TO OUTSCORE YOUR OPPONENT WITH YOUR HORSES RESULTS VERSUS YOUR OPPONENTS HORSES RESULTS. YOU TRY TO PICK THE 3 HORSES FROM YOUR CONTEST STABLES THAT YOU FEEL WILL HAVE THE BEST RESULTS FOR THAT GIVEN WEEK.
4)IF YOU DO NOT ENTER ANY HORSES FOR A GIVEN WEEK YOU WILL HAVE HORSES AUTOMATICALLY ENTERED FOR YOU FROM YOUR CONTEST STABLES. THE 3 HORSES WITH THE LOWEST ODDS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ENTERED (IF THERE ARE HORSES WITH THE SAME ODDS THE LARGEST FIELD HORSES WOULD TAKE PREFERENCE AND IF STILL TIED A DRAW WOULD BE HELD TO MAKE THE CHOICE) FOR YOU. IF YOUR CONTEST STABLES DO NOT HAVE ENTRIES FOR THAT WEEK YOU WOULD FORFEIT THE MATCH AND RECEIVE A SCORE OF ZERO.
5)ONLY SATURDAY RACES COUNT---NO RODOT RACES.
6)SCORING IS AS FOLLOWS---10 POINTS FOR A WIN, 5 POINTS FOR A SECOND, 3 POINTS FOR A THIRD AND 1 POINT FOR EVERY HORSE YOU BEAT IN THE RACE NO MATTER WHAT PLACE YOU FINISH. (THIS IS TO MAKE IT MORE ADVANTAGEOUS TO RUN YOUR HORSES IN RACES WITH FULL FIELDS.)
7)IN RACES WHERE THERE ARE MORE THAN 14 ENTRIES ONLY THE FIRST 14 PLACES WILL BE CONSIDERED WHEN SCORING THE RACE. IF YOUR HORSE FINISHED 1ST IT WOULD RECEIVE 23 POINTS-(10 POINTS FOR WIN + BEAT 13 HORSES), IF YOUR HORSE FINISHED IN 14 THRU 20TH IT WOULD RECEIVE NO POINTS. (THIS IS SO NO ADVANTAGES CAN BE OBTAINED FROM REZ RESTRICTED 20 HORSE FIELD RACES.)
8)YOUR SCORE IS PUT AGAINST YOUR OPPONENT AND THE TEAM WITH THE HIGHER SCORE WINS THE MATCH. IF IT IS A TIE SCORE THAN THE MATCH IS CONSIDERED A TIE.
9)YOUR TEAM WILL RECEIVE 3 POINTS FOR EVERY WIN AND ONE POINT FOR EVERY TIE IN THE STANDINGS. ZERO POINTS WILL BE AWARDED FOR A LOSS.
10)THE STANDINGS TIE BREAKERS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS---1)---MOST POINTS, 2)---MOST WINS, 3)MOST POINTS SCORED FOR, 4)HIGHEST +/- RATING WHICH IS POINTS SCORED MINUS POINTS SCORED AGAINST.
11)IF YOU HAVE NOT ENTERED YOUR HORSES BY FRIDAY NOON GAMETIME I WILL SEND A REMINDER EMAIL TO THE EMAIL ADDRESS YOU SUPPLIED ON YOUR REGISTRATION.
12)A NEW OPTION THIS YEAR WILL BE THE MINORS CALL UP CLAUSE. AFTER THE 15TH REGULAR SEASON GAME AND BEFORE THE 16TH REGULAR SEASON GAME PLAYERS WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF REPLACING ONE OF THEIR 4 CONTEST STABLES WITH ANOTHER OF THEIR SIM STABLES. THIS IS A ONE TIME DEAL ONLY AND CAN ONLY BE DONE DURING THIS WEEK.
13)AFTER THE REGULAR SEASON ENDS THE DIVISION WINNERS AND SECOND PLACE FINISHERS WILL RECEIVE A BYE TO THE 2ND ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS.
14)THE THIRD THRU SIXTH PLACE TEAMS IN EACH DIVISION WILL FACEOFF IN A BEST 2 OUT OF 3 PRELIMINARY PLAYOFF ROUND.
15)THE WINNERS OF THE PRELIMINARY PLAYOFF ROUND WILL JOIN THE DIVISION WINNERS IN A BEST 3 OUT OF 5 ROUND OF 16 PLAYOFF ROUND AND THE WINNERS OF THIS ROUND WILL PLAY IN A BEST 3 OUT OF 5 QUARTER AND SEMI FINAL PLAYOFF ROUNDS AND THE WINNERS HERE WILL PLAY IN THE BEST 4 OUT OF 7 SIMCUP07 CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND.
